CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police are now searching for whoever killed a 15-year-old boy and dumped his body just days after he was reported missing.
Investigators said the body that was found along Saganaw Drive in Rex likely belongs to Logan Wade.
Wade left his house on Oct.7 to meet someone he met on Instagram known as Shrek at a Krispy Kreme in Stockbridge to buy marijuana.
Wade never came home.
Police said they found a body around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday that matched Wade’s description behind a home in the woods on Saganaw Drive. The person had been shot to death.
“I saw all the police lined up over there and then my neighbor told me they had found a body in someone’s backyard,” neighbor Starla Robinson said.
Investigators said they believe the body is that of Wade.

“I know social media chatter is going on, but we believe this to be Mr. Wade. At this point, we are actually trying to get DNA confirmation on whether or not it’s him,” said Maj. Anthony Thuman with the Clayton County Police Department.
Following Thursday’s announcement, Wade’s mother is trying to make sense of what happened to her son.
“He was a good boy. He was gentle. He’s not this this bad person that he’s been betrayed to be,” mother Lisa Morris said.
According to Clayton County police, Wade brought his dad’s gun with him to meet up with Shrek. His family said he was not someone who got in trouble often.
“My son was not a drug dealer or gangbanger. That’s not who he was. He was a friend to everybody. He met no stranger,” Morris said.
Now, his family said they need some answers so they can properly grieve.
“The people that are responsible need to pay for what they did, so they can’t do this to anybody else’s family,” Morris said. “He deserved to have a future full of good things. Not to lose his life at 15 years old.”
Police said they have people of interest in the case and several individuals who are being cooperative.
“We have multiple witnesses that are being very forthcoming with the information, so we anticipate being able to draw this one for a close,” Thuman said.
They are working to determine the official cause of death.
