RIVERDALE, Ga. — Police in Riverdale are investigating a shooting.
They have confirmed the shooting took place today at the Homestay Suites, an extended-stay motel just off Interstate 85 in Riverdale.
The shooting took place during the day when a number of people were in their rooms with their children.

Riverdale police said they got a call about a person shot early Tuesday afternoon.
When they arrived they found the 38-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital but he died on the way.
Clayton County Crime Scene Investigators taped off the area and collected evidence.
The family told Channel 2′s Audrey Washington that police have a person in custody, but the motive for the shooting is unclear.
Channel 2 Action News is withholding the victim’s name until we receive confirmation from police that his next-of-kin has been notified.
