Woman survives being shot 3 times in attempted murder-suicide by her child’s father

MORROW, Ga. — A Clayton County woman survived being shot three times during an attempted murder-suicide on Friday.

According to her mother, Jalen Morris, 24, was shot by her child’s father, Justin Lamar Wynne-Combs, while trying to leave her apartment.

Morris’s mother said Wynne-Combs fatally shot himself after shooting Morris three times, twice in the face and once in the back.

The shooting happened at her apartment on Lake Harbin Road in Morrow.

Morris’s mother said Jalen was trying to protect her 5-week-old son during the shooting.

Channel 2 Action News has not received an update on Morris’s current condition.

The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with Jalen’s recovery.
