COBB COUNTY, Ga. — For 38 years, Party City was the go-to supply store for holidays, celebrations, and graduations.
Soon, all the stores will close for good.
CNN reports the company is more than $800 million in debt, forcing Party City to close all its more than 800 locations.

“This is a continuation of the trend that we’ve seen. That is, brick-and-mortar stores have become very unpopular, because like you said, time is money, and people don’t want to take the time to go out and shop,” says Emory Business professor Tom Smith “People have become very sensitive about how much time they are spending out and about or running errands.”
Smith says similar to other businesses, like Toys R’Us and Bed Bath and Beyond, Party City suffered as more shoppers moved online.
“A lot of people can get what they need in a couple of mouse clicks, and it will be delivered to their door within a day.”
