2 children, mother found safe after kidnapping in Powder Springs

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Two children and their mother at the center of a Levi's Call have been found safe.

Scarlet Lira and Kael Lira, and their mother, Yajaria Ramirez, were allegedly taken at knifepoint by Josue Armando Patillo, the children's father, around 1 a.m. Monday in Powder Springs.

Channel 2's Chris Jose learned from a police source that the three were found safe in Jasper County, South Carolina.

"It appears he drove to South Carolina, Jasper County, Hardeyville area. Where at some point he was separated from the victims," said Powder Springs Police Maj. Dwayne Prosser.

Around 3 p.m., Ramirez called to say she was OK.

"So she got to a point somewhere she was by herself and able to call police?" Channel 2's Nicole Carr asked Prosser.

"It appears so, yes. By unknown circumstances, we're not sure how that happened yet," Prosser responded. "The children are safe. She is safe and they're with police right now."

However, authorities are still searching for Patillo.

Patillo is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Patillo is considered armed and dangerous.
