COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Days after being arrested for DUI, Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna is in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game.

The 2021 World Series Champions announced in a tweet that the outfielder will be playing left field.

Ozuna was arrested early Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Ozuna was arrested by a Norcross police officer in metro Atlanta and booked into the Gwinnett County jail at about 4:30 a.m. Friday. He was charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane and was released on a $1,830 bond.

Channel 2′s Alison Mastrangelo talked to Ozuna, who gave a brief statement from the locker room on Friday afternoon.
Marcell Ozuna just walked out to his locker and said he’s disappointed . He disappointed his team and family. He walked away after that. It lasted less than 20 seconds .

“I disappointed my team,” he said. “I disappointed my family. I don’t have anything to say more. It’s a legal matter.”
Channel 2 Action News received the following statement from the Atlanta Braves:
“The Atlanta Braves are aware of Marcell Ozuna’s arrest this morning and are still gathering all the facts pertaining to the incident. Our organization takes these matters very seriously and (we) are obviously disappointed by the situation. As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment until the process is complete.”

The Braves will play against Houston Astros today at 1:35 p.m.
The team has not released a statement about Sunday’s lineup.
