The Braves and Truist announce new national headquarters for Truist Securities inside The Battery

Truist Financial Corporation and the Braves Development Company announced Wednesday that Truist Securities will relocate its national headquarters to The Battery.

The new building will be located right behind Truist Park—approximately 300 feet from home plate. Channel 2′s Audrey Washington visited the site Wednesday afternoon and spoke with representatives from Truist Securities and the Atlanta Braves Development Company.

“We’re moving our existing teammates. We are in a growth mod,e and have been for many years, so we will continue to grow, which is why there will be capacity for additional growth in that building for us,” John Gregg, Chairman, Truist Securities said.

Mike Plant, president of Atlanta Braves Development Company, said the new construction will also help create jobs in Cobb County.

“Architects, engineers, construction and those are things that obviously help drive the economy here in Cobb, Metro Atlanta and Georgia,” Plant said.

The construction of the 250,000-square-foot building is set to begin in the second half of 2022 in The Battery Atlanta. The project is expected to take 30 months to complete.

“The new Truist Securities headquarters in The Battery Atlanta will be a unique location that will help us continue to attract, develop, and retain best-in-class teammates in order to better serve our clients,” said Truist Vice Chair Beau Cummins. “On the heels of a World Series championship, we’re proud to partner with the Braves and create this exciting new workspace.”
