COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Cobb County Police Department say they are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday.
CCPD officials say on January 9 at 8:22 p.m., officers responded to the Residence at Riverside Apartments on 360 Riverside Parkway in Austell after 911 calls reported shots fired in the area.

While responding, the call was upgraded to a person shot. When they arrived to the apartments, police say they found a 17-year-old victim who had been shot multiple times.
The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and treated, however, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

CCPD’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
