COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Cobb County School District received a big shipment of digital devices on Thursday.
Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Chris Jose was there as crews unloaded a truck filled with 750 Chromebooks.
Cobb County will receive 2600 devices from Gwinnett County-based Stratix.
“In Cobb County, and across the country, you will see parents frustrated if their problems are not getting solved quickly and we want to be there to help,” said Stratix CEO Louis Alterman.
Alterman said Stratix is the largest supplier in North America of management mobility solutions.

“We were rocking and rolling with retailers and airlines. They shut down,” said Alterman.
Alterman said the company shifted its supply chain to help schools. Stratix turned around the first 750 devices in under a week, at a time when mobile devices are difficult to come by in large quantities.
“We have a great supply chain, we have great relationships with the manufacturers. We can get the devices which is a big deal right now,” said Alterman.
According to a Cobb County School District spokesperson, the district received about 39,000 requests for digital devices. 31,000 have been filled and 8,000 remain, the spokesperson said.
The Cobb Schools Foundation says it has received more than $150,000 to support technology needs in the district.
North Metro Church made a $75,000 donation to help pay for devices. The Square Church in Smyrna raised nearly $20,000.
