COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A group of Cobb County police recruits recently completed their active shooter training in a real-life environment: Six Flags Over Georgia.
The Cobb County Police Academy used the amusement park to simulate an active shooter situation.
“The training is as close to real life as we can by using simulation weapons, victim role players and the deployment of smoke,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
Photos released by the department show the recruits in full gear, including bulletproof vests, helmets and gas masks, across the park.
