Police have charged Matthew Lanz with their murders. Lanz, who shared a backyard fence with the Hicks’ home, was arrested after stabbing a Sandy Springs police officer the next day.

The community is now looking to support the family with the unexpected expenses of funeral arrangements. They also want to help the family with expenses associated with caring for and raising the Hicks’ son.
