MARIETTA, Ga. — Firefighters have put out flames at an extended-stay motel in Marietta, but now dozens of people have to find a place to go.
Video shared with Channel 2 Action News shows the Metro Extended Stay Hotel on Freys Gin Road SE with flames and a large plume of smoke coming from the roof.
Fire officials say they were called around 10:30 a.m. and spent about 20 minutes getting the fire under control.
Channel 2 Action News crews at the motel saw pretty significant damage as crews continued working to put it out.

Marietta Fire Department Assistant Chief Cliff Bolen said the flames were coming from the third floor of the motel and extended up into the attic.
Officials say they are working with the motel management to help find housing for the approximately 30 people now displaced.
Five of the rooms suffered heavy fire damage. Another 30 to 40 rooms were damaged by water.

Drivers along I-75 in Cobb County even reported being able to see large amounts of smoke in the area.
Luckily, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
