MARIETTA, Ga. — Police are searching for a killer who shot a teen outside a restaurant.

Channel 2's Tom Jones was outside Wellstar Kennestone Hospital when members of the victim's family arrived to find out their grandson had died.

Jones said Tyon Gorman’s two sets of grandparents were grief-stricken over his death.

He also spoke with a worker inside a food mart near where the teen was killed. Ali Raza said he heard three to four gunshots as he worked inside the Citgo gas station on Bells Ferry Road.

Then he noticed a commotion outside and saw a man on the ground with people surrounding him.

“They (tried to) help him, but I think he was dead,” Raza said.

Marietta police said someone shot Gorman in the parking lot outside a Chinese restaurant at the strip mall around 6:30 p.m.

Officers said they don't have many details about how it happened.
