MARIETTA, Ga. — The interstate has been reopened as officials conclude their investigation into a deadly car crash.
Officials told Channel 2 Action News officers received reports of a crash on I-75 southbound near Delk Road early Saturday.
According to the Marietta Police Department, the multiple-vehicle collision happened early in the morning Saturday.

Initial details from the investigation revealed that the driver of a Kia Sedona traveling South on I-75 near Delk Road lost control of the vehicle, traveled across all lanes, and struck the median, then traveled across all lanes of travel again before striking the right-hand guard rail.
After stopping, partially in the far right lane, the Sedona was hit by multiple vehicles, according to police.
At the same time, a black Dodge Challenger was driving in the far right lane and lost control, striking two pedestrians stopped in the shoulder trying to provide help and report the crash, police said.
Officers said the Kia Sedona’s driver was released on the scene with minor injuries, while the Dodge Challenger driver was released with no injuries.
However, one of the pedestrians was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries while the other was transported with life-threatening injuries and did not survive the crash, according to police.

Officers now released the identity of the victim who did not survive, reporting she was Sarah Bolt, 38 of Monroe.
Police have not provided specifics on exactly how many cars were involved.
The interstate was shut down for nearly five hours as crews worked to clear the crash.
A driver stuck in traffic told Channel 2 Action News around 4 a.m. that they had been stuck in traffic since 1 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the MPD’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit.
