Investigators said Demmitt fired multiple rounds into his neighbor’s house after being denied access to their party on Westchase Drive on Saturday night.

One man was shot in the shoulder and is expected to be okay.

Demmitt fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

“I heard the shotgun re-cock and blast again. At that point, I went to check on my family. I told them, go in the furthest room in the back,” said a neighbor.

On Monday afternoon, Channel 2 Cobb County bureau chief Chris Jose was on the scene when the SWAT Team arrived to search Demmitt’s home. They did not find him in the home.

Demmitt is facing aggravated assault charges.

The suspect may be in a red Camry.
