COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man has died after he was hit by a car Friday evening.

Cobb County police said the incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Canton Road, north of the Jamerson Road intersection.
According to officials, the man was trying to cross Canton Road from east to west outside a marked crosswalk.
A 42-year-old Woodstock man driving a black 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE was traveling northbound in the right lane and had two minors in the vehicle.
Officers said the man walked into the path of the SUV and was hit.

The man, whose age and identity were not released, was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he died. The 42-year-old driver and minors in the Mercedes were not injured, officials said.
