COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man on a motorcycle has been caught on camera breaking into cars in an area you might not expect.
Channel 2’s Justin Wilfon spoke with one of the victims after surveillance video showed the thief breaking into multiple cars at Vinings Jubilee, a popular shopping and eating district in historic Vinings.
It’s an area where Michaela Rowland usually feels safe.
“I was mad. Just a huge inconvenience,” Rowland said. “It’s a really nice area. I always feel safe going out to my car after a shift or anything.”
But on Tuesday, while she waited tables inside a nearby pizza restaurant, surveillance cameras caught a man busy outside breaking into her car.
“I saw my passenger window had been broken, glass everywhere and they had taken a backpack out of my car,” Rowland said.

Wilfon obtained pictures of the suspect, taken by the security camera at the popular dining and shopping district.
The images show the man arriving on a motorcycle, before his crime spree.
“It was just really unexpected to happen in broad daylight. Hadn’t even gotten too dark yet,” Rowland said.
She told Wilfon the man got away with laptops and other valuables from multiple cars.
In a statement, Vinings Jubilee management said:
“While it’s unfortunate that an incident like this occurred, we are thankful and relieved that no one was harmed. Incidents such as this serve as a sobering reminder to be aware of your surroundings.”
Wilfon found glass in the parking lot from one of the windows the thief busted out when he arrived at the shopping center Friday.
Rowland said she hopes that the man’s next stop is jail.
“Yeah, I’d like them to catch him. He got caught on film so I guess he could have been a little bit smarter,” Rowland said.
Cobb County police told Wilfon they are investigating but so far, they say they have no updates in the case.
