COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 6-year-old metro Atlanta boy is collecting hundreds of Hot Wheels to help kids in need have a great Christmas this year.
Landon Floyd, who lives in Smyrna, used money out of his own piggy bank to buy the first few toys, his grandmother, Lynn Taylor, wrote on Facebook.
Calling his campaign #landonshotwheelsforboys, Landon has since collected nearly 400 of the toys. He started with a goal of just 104 toys, but now hopes to collect 500.

The toys will be donated to kids through MUST Ministries and Children’s Healthcare Atlanta.
“Landon wanted to donate these in memory of my daughter (Landon’s Aunt) who passed away last year,” Taylor wrote.
Landon’s mother, Stephanie Floyd, set up an Amazon wishlist to help with the drive, which ends Dec. 1. The toys will be delivered Dec. 3.
Stephanie Floyd said she’s amazed that her son came up with the idea at such a young age.
“I personally find it refreshing that a boy so young has such a big heart!” Stephanie Floyd said.
