KENNESAW, Ga. — Arguably the only way that a Rubik’s Cube and Jeopardy can intersect in real life is if the two things are specialties of the same person.

It just so happens Kennesaw State student Raymond Goslow who is currently competing in Jeopardy’s National College Tournament, can do just that. “I never want to stop learning,” Goslow said. “And that’s really good for going on Jeopardy, at least.”

Channel 2′s Wendy Corona spoke to Goslow about his appearance on the game show.

If you were watching Channel 2 Tuesday night, you saw Goslow continue onwards in the Jeopardy tournament. He was one of 36 students nationwide chosen to be on the prime time show. Goslow said he was not intimidated by competing against students from bigger academic powerhouses like Harvard, Yale and other Ivy League schools.

“I‘m really, really grateful that I was able to get on it for this special tournament,” Goslow said. “It’s very special to get to bring Kennesaw State to the people around the country in prime time.”

While being able to compete in front of a nationwide audience against the best and brightest from around the country is certainly a point of pride, it’s Goslow’s “other” talent that you might find fascinating.

He’s a Rubik’s Cube expert but it’s not the fact he solves the puzzle fairly easily, it’s how he does it-with his feet.

His love of everything cube was through a random encounter with the puzzle 11 years ago. He’s been obsessed ever since.

“I was at Walmart looking through the toy aisle and I saw that the Rubik’s Cube set on the box,” Goslow said. “It comes with instructions. And so I’m like, I like to follow instructions.”

Goslow teaches classes on how to solve the cube at a nearby Cobb County Library.

While having success on Jeopardy is certainly a bucket list item for many, Goslow said solving a Rubik’s Cube in 25 seconds with his feet may currently be his greatest accomplishment.

“That was where I peaked in my life,” Goslow said.
