Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in Marietta

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Marietta police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash happened Monday around 8 p.m. along Cobb Parkway, near Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus.

Police said the 57-year-old victim was attempting to cross the road in front of the Regency Inn and Suites when he was hit by a Toyota Camry, and then another car.

The driver Camry, 43-year-old Kevin Alstead, left the scene after the crash, police said. A Marietta police K9 later tracked down Alstead on the campus of KSU, with the help of KSU police.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact STEP officer Johnson at 770-794-5384.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
