Officers are calling this one bizarre shooting.

"When we first responded in an incident like this our first thought was that there's a 3rd party and we have two victims. It was a little bit of a twist to us when we arrived and realized they shot each other," said Chuck McPhilamy with the Marietta Police Department.

Detectives say their preliminary investigation indicates the men were inside a hotel room when they shot each other.

At the scene, Jones saw what appeared to be bullet holes in this s-u-v parked outside the room where the shooting took place.

"It was 4 shots fired," said Andre Fleetwood, a witness to the shooting.

Fleetwood says he was at the nearby McDonalds when he heard the shots. He said people who were with the man who was shot in the leg told him that he was shot first.

"The guy that got shot in the leg went to his car and got his gun out and shot back," he said.

Detectives are trying to figure out what sparked it all.
