‘Armed and dangerous’ teen gang member wanted in Marietta man’s murder, police say

MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta police says a teenager, who is known to be part of a gang, is wanted in connection to the murder of a 30-year-old man nearly two weeks ago.

Police say Norval Bailey, 30, was was found lying in the middle of Massachusetts Avenue dead from several gunshot wounds on June 15.

By the next morning, police had identified the suspected shooter and two accomplices, as well as a car used in the shooting.

By the next evening, police had recovered the gun and car used in the shooting. They had also arrested one of two suspected accomplices, 30-year-old Sherman Johnson, and charged him with tampering with evidence.

Police have now announced the suspected shooter is 17-year-old Donald Bannister, also known as Lil Ghost.

Police say, once arrested, Bannister will be charged with felony murder. He is known to be a gang member, so police are warning that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Bannister should call 911 immediately.

The identity of the second accomplice is not yet being released.
