COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County police said a 7-year-old girl with autism was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Acworth Sunday night.
Police said the accident happened on New McEver Road around 10:15 p.m. after the child slipped out of her home without her parents noticing.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.

The car that hit her sped away and should have front-end damage that includes a missing University of Alabama vanity plate and damage to at least one of the headlights.
