MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta police say a 71-year-old man who wandered away from an assisted living facility Tuesday afternoon has been found safe.
Investigators said Cartha Speed is a resident at the Marietta Center for Nursing and Healing on Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta.
Speed was seen walking out of the facility around 12:15 p.m. and was reported missing about an hour later.
Police said Speed has dementia and is also being treated for anxiety.
Investigators told Channel 2 Action News that Speed was found around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Delk Road.
They said he was not injured but was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
