COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County firefighters are investigating how a propane truck caught fire, causing dozens of small propane tanks to explode.
It happened around 2:30 p.m., along Industry Road in Powder Springs.
When crews got to the scene, they found heavy fire at the facility along with propane tanks exploding all over the place.

“These crews worked quickly to attack the fire, put themselves in harm’s way to surround and contain this fire which had approximately 140 tanks on board with an estimated 60 having exploded during the firefight,” Cobb County Fire said in a news release.
Video from the Cobb County Fire Department shows a massive explosion as the fire engulfed the truck.

Firefighters said it appears the fire started somewhere in the engine compartment of the propane tank.
“The quick action of these firefighters prevented there from being any injuries or fatalities to employees, citizens and first responders,” the fire department said.
