MARIETTA, Ga. — Police said mass chaos broke out at Andretti Indoor Karting and Games in Marietta Sunday after shots were fired in the parking lot and a man ran inside with a gun.
Marietta Police said patrons reported gunfire in the parking lot Sunday evening. An on-site security guard investigated and determined it was possibly an attempted armed robbery. Police now confirm it was an attempted robbery.
Channel 2′s Audrey Washington was at the scene and spoke to police, who said that at least two shots were fired.
Police said the suspects were inside what looks like a 2018 Honda Accord with damage along the passenger side and a front wheel replaced by a spare tire.
According to police, one of the suspects got out and approached a man walking in to Andretti, pointed a gun at him and demanded his jewelry and money.
When he wouldn’t comply, the suspect fired at least two shot but no one was hit. Police said the victim also pulled out a gun, but instead of firing at the suspect, the victim ran inside the entertainment center, waving the gun around.
Mass chaos broke out inside the venue because patrons thought the victim was actually the shooter.

Washington talked to witnesses, who described the chaos that unfolded.
Nicholas Crafter said he is still in shock.
“They were like, ‘Somebody shooting! Somebody shooting!‘” Crafter said. “I’m very surprised. This is my first time coming out here and we did not expect this today.
Bill McCritty said he saw the attempted robbery take place.
“What happened was, this guy with a yellow shirt on, he had a big chain and this guy tried to rob him,” McCritty said.
McGritty said that after the victim ran inside with his gun drawn, everyone ran and ducked for cover.
“I was scared,” McGritty said. “I was scared out of my life. I was about to call my mom.”
Police initially responded to the situation as an active shooter call. Multiple jurisdictions responded and the venue is closed for the rest of the night as police investigate.
Police are currently going through surveillance video and interviewing witnesses.
Police have not said if a suspect is in custody. The victim is cooperating with the investigation.
