Channel 2′s Christian Jennings said the crowd by no means has overwhelmed workers. Jennings said there were a lot of people waiting in line when the pop-up site, put on by the Atlanta Braves, along with the Cobb-Douglas Public Health Department and Northside Hospital opened, but things have slowed over the course of the day.

Sixteen-year-old Meera Dave told Jennings she was excited to get her first Pfizer shot at the home of the Braves.

“I just wanted to do my part,” Dave said. “It feels good. I feel like now I can, you know, just like live.”

With her mother Nancy, standing close by, getting vaccinated for the teenaged Dave was a proud, happy moment that Mom made sure to capture on her phone.

“I think you know maybe 10,15 years from now, she’ll look back and can show her family members that this is what was going on at this time,” said Nancy.

“I think like overall to help society as a whole, just get the vaccine to help COVID go away, you know,” Meera added.

The clinic was not for walk ups. The Braves and the health department said there were still plenty of appointments available as of midday Saturday.

If you were one of those able to get the vaccine at the ballpark, the clinic will re-open on May 26 for second shots. You should have been able to schedule that before leaving the stadium Saturday.

Officials with the Cobb-Douglas Public Health Department said they had eight other locations across the county to schedule the second shot if you are unable to return to Truist in the middle of a work week.
