AUSTELL, Ga. — The Cobb County Police Department is on scene of a suspicious package, Channel 2 Action News has learned.
Police say they have officers at the Truist Bank located at 1661 East-West Connector investigating a suspicious item found outside the bank.

After their investigation of the item, the bomb squad determined the suspicious item no longer poses any threat to the public, police said.

Hospital South Drive has been reopened to through traffic. The bank, however, will remain closed until further notice while detectives will continue to investigate.
