COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County school officials are investigating after they said a senior was caught selling drug-laced candy on campus.

One parent told us it happens more than we thing at North Cobb High School.

"He shouldn't be selling drugs period, but definitely not at a high school," a student said.

When students heard about another student selling drug-laced gummy bears, they were surprised how the school disciplined him.

School officials said the teen was suspended for 10 days.

"I think they should be expelled, because it's not right at all," a student said.

The school did not send a letter home telling parents about the situation.

One parent, Julie Paige, told Channel 2 Action News she was not surprised at all.

"I think that if we got a note every time there was drug-laced candy at a high school, that we would be bombarded," Paige said.

She said her child got caught up in a similar situation. Paige said she does not fully agree with the punishment handed down by school administrators.

"Especially too with the no tolerance that goes on. You know, kids get suspended for bringing Pamprin to school. You know what I mean? It's drug-laced candy, and that's really sad and it's a bad situation," Paige said.

Cobb County police said a report was never made about this incident.
