MARIETTA, Ga. — A serious crash with injuries has shut down a busy Marietta road.
The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. on Fairground Street near Fort Street. NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene live on Channel 2 Action News This Morning.

Marietta police told Channel 2 that it was a head-on collision that injured two people.
Police said that Michelle Nutt, 22, was driving in a 2022 Chevy Impala on Fairground Street. Nutt wasn’t able to stay in her lane and crossed over the double yellow line into the other lane, according to investigators.

Nutt crashed into a GMC Sierra pick-up truck belonging to Kevin Espinosa. The 21-year-old driver was not injured; however, Nutt and her front seat passenger were.
Police said her passenger, identified as 22-year-old Jaborrie Darden. Investigators determined that Darden wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, which caused serious injuries.
Paramedics took both Nutt and Darden to WellStar Kennestone.
