UPDATE: I-285 in Cobb reopens after overturned big rig spills trash

A major artery in Cobb County is back open after a tractor-trailer tipped over and spilled its contents next to the interstate, officials said.

The big rig turned over on I-285 NB/EB at the exit ramp to I-75, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The truck appeared to have spilled trash and debris on and near the road, according to NewsChopper 2. Cleanup has since moved to the right shoulder of the road.

No injuries were reported. Some delays remained Monday afternoon.

Troopers, a HERO unit and large wreckers responded to the scene to clean up the wreckage, GSP said.

All but one lane was blocked while authorities investigated the wreck, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The big rig was moved to the right shoulder and all lanes reopened about 1 p.m.
