The investigation revealed that an employee was shot inside the lobby of the hotel. Police said the hotel clerk called 911 right after being shot multiple times in the hotel lobby.

According to them, the tipster saw a man, later identified as Gary Elliott, walking into one of the hotel rooms right after the shooting and said he appeared to be suspicious so they called the police.

Authorities confirmed that the employee is at the hospital and is stable. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Now, Elliott is facing new allegations. Warrants obtained by Newell alleged that Elliott broke into a Tesla dealership, vandalized cars, and stole one after the shooting.

“I’ve never seen a situation like this that type of theft before,” victim Bridges Holmes said.

Holmes is on his way back to Atlanta, but he’s not sure when he’ll get his Tesla back. It was at a dealership in Kennesaw for repairs, when police say Elliott broke inside.

“He basically broke a windshield wiper from another Tesla vehicle right next to mine. (He) broke the windshield wipers and used that to break into the windshield of my car and tried to pry out the vin from my windshield,” Holmes explained.

Police say Elliott broke into several Teslas and then managed to steal one, which is extremely rare. A bizarre crime spree that police say took place a couple of hours.

“ (I) Certainly don’t want to hear anybody else getting hurt or getting impacted and I hope the hotel employee is okay,” Holmes said.

Two arrest warrants were issued for Elliott. He is facing a list of charges for the shooting and additional charges for the crime spree. Police say they still aren’t sure why he shot the hotel clerk.

Investigators say they arrested Elliott after they caught him speeding in the stolen Telsa.
