COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County Schools students ranked highest in Georgia Milestone’s grades in 2023 across metro Atlanta, according to a news release from the district.
Cobb County students ranked No. 1 across the board in the subjects of ELA, math, science and social studies.
“I could not be more proud of our teachers and students for again placing Cobb above our metro peers. We have the best teachers, and their focus on academic excellence is continuously demonstrated. I am looking forward to another great year and seeing our one goal of student success achieved for all our students,” Superintendent Chris Ragsdale said.

Cobb students had similar success to this last year, according to the news release.
For the 19 Cobb middle schools, 100% of their Algebra I students scored as developing learner or above.
Additionally, nine different high schools were among the top 50 high schools in Georgia for the percentage of US History students who scored as a developing learner or above.

Cobb elementary schools also had similar success, according to the district.
Test scores showed that 100% of fourth graders in two Cobb elementary schools scored as developing learners and above.
The Georgia Milestones typically take place at the end of the school year.
