Woman accused of reporting fake armed robbery to get boyfriend out of traffic stop

MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta police arrested a woman they say called police about a fake armed robbery to divert them from a nearby traffic stop involving her boyfriend.

Officers say Mai-Lynn Yim called 911 around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

She told them a robbery was happening in the parking lot of the Big Chicken on Cobb Parkway, according to the warrant.

Police say it was all a scheme to draw law enforcement away from her boyfriend, who was stopped by police in the area.

Yim was arrested and charged with false report of a crime.
