COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County police shot and injured a driver during a traffic stop on Interstate 75 Wednesday night.
Around 10:22 p.m., Cobb County police say officers were conducting a traffic stop on I-75 South near Delk Road just after 10:30 p.m.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says that as the officer walked up, he noticed 31-year-old Kenny Ezekiel with a gun in his waistband.
The officer told Ezekiel not to reach for the gun, but when he pulled it from his waistband, the officer shot him.
After the shooting, Ezekiel threw his gun out of the driver’s side window. It landed on the interstate.

The driver was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in an ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the driver has not been released.
No other injuries were reported from this incident.
