Checkers is a drive up chain restaurant that advertises its burgers, fries and colas.

Often at drive-thru restaurants, customers might not see or pay much attention to the health scores.

Customers who placed an order at the walk up window at the College Park Checkers saw a score posted Thursday of 88.

That is actually an old score.

The restaurant was inspected April 12,  and that current score is 68.

Channel 2's Carol Sbarge asked one customer what he thought of the 88 score posted instead of the 68. Rodney West said he thought that was bad.

In the recent health inspection report, the inspector observed pink slime mold build up in the ice machine.

Other violations included heavy food debris and build up in the interior of the reach in freezer, food debris on floors and walls throughout the food prep area, and an employee not washing hands after taking trash out.

When Sbarge went to the Checkers to ask about the violations, she was told to call the corporate office.

She did and has not heard back.

Customer Lee McDowell says the current score of 68 is very concerning.

This Checkers will be re-inspected this month. We’ll let you know what is the new score.
