College Park mother, daughter killed in crash with wrong-way driver

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A College Park woman and her daughter were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 south in Monroe County early Sunday morning.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies were dispatched to the accident around 2:06 a.m. and found two cars involved in a head-on collision in the southbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 195.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the drivers of both cars were killed. A 7-year-old girl was seriously injured and transported to a Macon hospital, where she remained until she died.

Deputies got a call about a driver heading north in the southbound lanes of I-75, but were unable to get to the car before the accident.

The wrong-way driver has been identified as David Fryar, 32, of Forsyth.

The mother from College Park has been identified as Monserrat Godinez, 29.
