Police are looking for a driver who hit a construction worker in Cobb County.
Channel 2's Justin Wilfon saw it happen on his way to work. He took photos of the scene that show the worker was left lying on the road after the driver plowed through the construction zone.
Marietta police confirmed the driver sped away from the scene after driving through the construction zone.

The construction worker was taken to the hospital and later released.
Police have very little for a description but do say they are pursuing several leads.
“It’s more common than any of us would like to admit, not just with construction, but anyone on the side of the road.”
While Wilfon wasn’t able to snap picture’s of the driver's car, he did get several others. In one photo you can see workers pointing at the fleeing car, while their fellow worker lies in the street.
Wilfon also talked with a man who walks in the same area. He said he was nearly hit in a separate incident.
"Actually walking along the cones, cars are a lot closer than I’m really comfortable with… seems a little dangerous.”
A county spokesperson tells me the worker who was hit is employed by a local construction company, not the county.
He was taken to the hospital and later released.
A terrifying few moments, that sends an important message to all of us.
