- The state’s number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is up to 34,002 and 1,444 deaths as of Monday afternoon. The Georgia Department of Public Health says it will update its website with new data at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. “This change will enable more consistent reporting while still providing timely and actionable data,” the department said.
- Channel 2 Action News has found people across the metro area are confused by what can seem like conflicting messages coming from the governor, mayors and various parks and recreation authorities about what is open and what’s not.
- Parts of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and Chattahoochee River recreation areas will open back up Monday. Here’s what to expect if you head out to the parks for fresh air.
- If you live in Georgia and want to vote in the primaries then the deadline to register is Monday. The primary is currently set for June 9 after the state moved it in response to the pandemic.
- DeKalb County Board of Health will have its second pop-up COVID-19 testing site. It will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The House of Hope Atlanta off Flat Shoals Parkway. The testing is free but you must pre-register.
- Emory University held a virtual commencement at 10:00 a.m.
