- There are now 15,260 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 576 related deaths in Georgia, according to new data released Tuesday. At least 3,006 cases have required hospitalization.
- Starting immediately, anyone in Georgia with coronavirus symptoms can get tested via referral. Here’s how.
- Emory University is opening up a drive-through testing site by appointment only. Use this screening tool if you’d like to be tested.
- Gov. Brian Kemp had more of an optimistic tone Tuesday as he spoke with Channel 2 anchor Justin Farmer about the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. May 1 is the latest predicted peak date for coronavirus cases in Georgia.
- The Atlanta City Council took action Tuesday to help people who have trouble paying their rent. The council ratified Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms order calling for a temporary moratorium on some evictions for the next 60 days.
- Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines will receive a $5.4 billion in federal relief funding. It will help keep workers paid through September. Delta is the largest private employer in Georgia.
- The White House says about 80 million Americans can expect economic impact payment checks to hit their bank accounts today.
