Coweta County deputies honor the passing of K9 Ruger

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — It’s always tough to say goodbye to a team member who was also a good boy and family member.

That’s exactly what the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office is doing after the passing of retired K9 Ruger this past weekend at the age of 11.

Ruger, an all black Belgian Malinois spent two years working as a deputy from 2013-2015 before he had to medically retire. The Sheriff’s office proudly stated Ruger worked countless manhunts and drug investigations.

Upon Ruger’s retirement, he spent the rest of his years enjoying life at home with his handler and teammate Troy Foles and Foles family after being adopted. At Ruger’s forever home, he was loved by his human mom and three human sisters while enjoying a life of love, hugs and relaxing.
