COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — An eight-year-old is hospitalized after being underwater for nearly 10 minutes Sunday.
Coweta County deputies told Channel 2 Action News crews received reports of a possible drowning at home in Senoia on Sunday.

When authorities arrived, they found an eight-year-old who had been underwater for eight minutes before he was discovered and pulled from the water by his father.
Authorities said CPR was performed on the child while first responders were on the way.
Crews quickly took over with Advanced Life Support and took him to a local hospital. He was later transported to Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.

Authorities said medical experts detected a pulse and put the child on a ventilator. As of Tuesday, he remains on the ventilator but his current condition has not been released.
The identity of the child has not been released.
Authorities have not said what led to the incident.
