NEWNAN, Ga. — The Newnan community has received an outpouring of support after a devastating EF-4 tornado hit the area, causing widespread destruction.
It will take a lot to help residents get back on their feet. Here are a few ways you can help:
Newnan Police Department
“Our donation collection centers are full. Please hold your donations until later this week as supply will run low. We will make a call for more assistance as the need arises.

City of Newnan
The city is accepting items such as water, toiletries, cleaning supplies and plastic totes.
You can drop your donations off at the Coweta County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Peachtree City Police Department
The Peachtree City Police Department is accepting donations from 3/28 - 4/2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Items requested are water, toiletries, cleaning supplies and plastic totes.

American Red Cross
American Red Cross disaster volunteers in two Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) will be distributing emergency supplies in hard-hit neighborhoods in Newnan Saturday.
Red Cross ERVs will begin in two locations in Newnan and circle outward from these center points, driving through neighborhoods and offering supplies to residents in need. The two central locations are:
• Newnan High School, 190 Lagrange St., Newnan
• Shenandoah Forest Apartments, 8 Forest Circle, Newnan
You can donate to the Atlanta branch of the Red Cross to help.
Summit Family YMCA of Newnan
The location at 1765 Highway 34 East, Newnan, GA 30265 is open Friday and throughout the week to collect donations to help the community.
Accepted items include toiletries, blankets, garbage bags, plastic bins, packaged snacks and bottled water.
The shower there will also be open again to families in need 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the group’s Community Outreach at 770-254-5920 with any questions.
The Newnan Gives Back: Newnan Strong campaign
March 27, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Two different locations will be accepting donations to help students in Newnan County. They are also collecting financial donations. Items will be available to any kids or to the parents of little ones from anywhere in the county.

Newnan High School Baseball Field
Newnan High School sustained significant damage. A GoFundMe has been set up to repair the baseball field and facilities.
The team will also be taking donations for the high school during both home games next week.
