NEWNAN, Ga. — The Newnan community is asking for prayers as one of their own is in ICU after an allergic reaction.
Newnan High School football team posted to Facebook asking for prayers for Class of 2024 student athlete Tyrell McGuire.
McGuire “had a very severe allergic reaction and has ended up in the hospital in the ICU.” It is unclear what caused the allergic reaction.

In a timeline, family detailed that McGuire “is heavily sedated with swelling in the area of his chest and throat.”
Doctors plan to utilize less sedation and the family has asked for specific prayers that he will do well with this transition to less sedation.
Family says they were told “this will be a multi day process and will have a better idea of what comes next in the coming hours.”

The latest update based on less sedation, McGuire didn’t fare so well with the first time, which upset him, however, doctors once again sedated McGuire.
Some good news was received after doctors said his pathways were opening back up, but prayers are still needed.
