Man accused of shooting wife during dispute killed after pointing gun at deputies, GBI says

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened on Saturday.

Authorities said Coweta County deputies received reports of a domestic dispute at a home in Senoia Saturday night.

In addition to the dispute report, deputies were told that a woman was shot by a man who was identified as 76-year-old Michael Adams.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they approached the home using a shield, at which point officials said Adams exited the home and pointed his gun at deputies.

Deputies said they tried to convince Adams to put the gun down but they were unsuccessful.

Adams’ wife was taken to the hospital, where her condition remains unknown.

Authorities have not said if any deputies were injured during the incident.

The GBI will conduct an autopsy on Adams.
