GRANTVILLE, Ga. — The man accused of killing a 75-year-old couple and their 18-year-old grandson at a Grantville gun range is now standing trial.
Opening statements in the trial for Jacob Christian Muse started earlier this week.
Thomas Richard Hawk Sr., 75, and Evelyn Hawk, 75, owned Lock, Stock & Barrel Shooting Range. The couple, along with 18-year-old Luke Hawk, were shot and killed at the range on April 8, 2022.

Investigators determined that the shooter, later identified as Muse, had stolen more than 40 guns and also disabled cameras at the business.
Tommy and Evelyn Hawk had run Lock, Stock & Barrel and been a part of the small, tight-knit community for nearly 30 years. Their grandson Luke was on spring break from high school, helping his grandparents at the shop.
Luke Hawk’s father, Coweta County Coroner Richard Hawk Jr., found the bodies of his family.

Muse was charged with three counts of malice murder after he was arrested at a home in College Park just a few days after the shooting. Investigators found stolen handguns and long guns in the home with him.
The ATF confirmed many of the guns found matched ones stolen during the robbery and murders.
Police say at one point Muse lived in the area and may have shopped at the Hawks’ store before the shooting.
