HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Police say a woman driving an SUV lost control and crashed on Interstate 75 in Henry County, throwing nine passengers from a truck and killing an 11-year-old girl.
The crash blocked all lanes on I-75 northbound just before Exit 212, which is Bill Gardner Parkway, near Locust Grove.
According to troopers, a Mercury Mountaineer crashed into a Nissan Sentra around 8 a.m. Thursday.
The Georgia State Patrol said the woman behind the wheel of the Mountaineer attempted to change lanes, over-corrected and lost control.
The Mountaineer then flipped multiple times. Troopers said six children and three adults were thrown from the SUV.
Bystanders at the Tanger outlets gathered to view the crash scene on the highway below.
"I mean, it's horrible. It makes you want to know the cause of it," witness Alex Schlobohm told Channel 2's Tom Regan.
Witness John Gary told Regan he arrived shortly after the crash.

First responders converged at the scene to help the injured.
“We went to the corner, watched 15 cops go by, ambulances and firetrucks,” witness Tiffany Hiett said. “They started blocking the exit ramps.”
The injured were transported by air and in ambulances to area hospitals.
Gary told Regan he will pray for the survivors and the child who didn't make it.
“Don't nobody want to lose their kids,” Gary said.
Police have not released the names of those injured or any of their conditions.
