COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A search is underway for a missing swimmer in the Chattahoochee River.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said a 20-year-old man was trying to swim across the river to a popular diving rock. He never resurfaced.

Crews have been searching for the swimmer since 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The search was suspended late Monday night when it became too dark to search.
Cobb County police confirmed its underwater search and recovery team is out at the river again today.
