Crews pull body of 46-year-old woman from Cobb County lake

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Crews in Cobb County have found the body of a woman who may have drowned Friday night.

According to Acworth police, witnesses reported seeing a 46-year-old Rockmart woman, who has been identified as Frey, on a raft in the Cauble Park lake at 5 p.m.

A short time later, they saw the same raft, but Fey wasn’t on it.

Crews searched for Frey until 11:30 p.m. and then began their search again Saturday morning.

Authorities said Frey’s body was recovered in Lake Acworth on the morning of June 26, near where she was last seen.

Her body was released to the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

Acworth police and DNR both say they want to remind everyone to always wear a personal flotation device when enjoying activities in the water.
