ATLANTA — A mission to rescue a person at a north Georgia state park has now turned into a recovery mission.
According to Habersham County Emergency Services, a person fell or jumped from a ledge at Tallulah Gorge Thursday afternoon. Crews arrived on the scene to begin the long process to safely rescue the person.
At 3:15 p.m., the emergency services spokesman said it is now a recovery and no longer a rescue.
Habersham Emergency Services and sheriff’s office, Tallulah Falls Fire and police, Rabun County Fire, DNR Park Rangers, HabSar on scene and DNR Aviation are all working at the scene.
